HI all,

We are installing Netweaver 2004s sr3 java stack only on sun solaris .Here as mentioned in the installation guide these file systems must be there .

/usr/sap

/sapmnt

/oracle

But here in our systems the thing is that the file systems are created under /apps .

So the linking has been done as

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Nov 26 09:04 oracle -> /apps/oracle

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Nov 19 21:57 sap -> /apps/usr/sap

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Nov 19 21:58 sapmnt -> /apps/sapmnt

Will this work .thanx in advance .....

Hi Ambarish,

The way they created the file system is not recomended, however it will work even if it is /apps/usr/sap.

Make sure that you give /apps/....... for all the paths where sapinst prompts you.

I have done the same for one customer. so go-ahead. If there is any possibily to change , you change it otherwise go-ahead, you dont get any issues.

Hope its resolves your doubt. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks

Kishore
