what is fault message type used for?

As I want to create message interface (inbound), the system askes to enter fault message type ,

must I enter one message type ? what is it userd for?

Hi,

Fault Message type is used for catching the exceptions/error like system/application related. Check the thread for more details

Fault Message Type is used for Error.It depend on your scenario that like to use it or not. Use of Fault message is not Mandatory.
