Hello,
i have a Problem with my backups of my ERP ECC 5 System.
Database Release is on 7.5.0 32 build
Backups work fine, but when i check my backup via Database Manager - Check - Backup
this error is shown.
-24988 sql error [backup_restore_check "PRDDB" DATA]; -903,Host file I/O error, blockcount mismatch
The Blockcount is correctly set to 64 !
Where ist my Problem ?
I have test it with serveral Backups, every time with same error Message.
thanks a lot for help
best regards
steven
Hello Steven,
The information is not enouph to get clear on your problem.
1) I could reproduce the reported error with the following scenario, for example.
Create the medium with default block size, dbm command:
backup_media_put "test" "test" FILE DATA 0 8 NO NO "" NONE
create the databackup
check my backup via Database Manager - Check - Backup
-> Check a medium < create the medium with block size 64 pointed to the "test" backup file >.
Dbm command: backup_media_put "test1" "test" FILE DATA 0 64 NO NO "" NONE
Run Backup check using medium "test1" =>
Got error "-24988 SQL error [backup_restore_check "test1" DATA]; -903,Host file I/O error, blockcount mismatchu2026"
The error occurred due the difference of the block size settings in the defined mediums.
2) "Where ist my Problem ?

To get clear on your Problem it's will be helpful to see the following information:
Messages in dbm.prt, knldiag, knldiag files;
Please post dbm.prt & dbm.mmm files;
Param history & backup history information;
What is the version of the Database Manager on your PC?
What is the DBM user of your database?
May be, additional information will be needed ...
3) Are you SAP customer?
If you are SAP customer => Did you create the OSS SAP ticket, where this issue was reported?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
