Hello everybody,
I'm a SAP BI guy new to BOBJ , I have created a universe based on a SAP BI query and want to create a new object in the universe that concatenates two characteristic(dimension) values together. I guess I need an XML or MDX expression to achieve this.
1. Is this possible ?
2. If so can a guru provide me with some example syntax.
Many thanks,
Jim
Hi,
Unfortunately, what you are asking for is not possible in SAP. It is possible in Microsoft Analysis Services.
This is due to an SAP limitation: calculated members and calculated measures MUST return numeric value.

Hi there, i would like to pull this thread up. Would like to know if in case we need a custom object, like we want to show the quarter/year " Q1 2009" as "2009 Q1") and we want it to be in universe so that all the users can access that object, we have to change the cube or the bex query to get it.
We just cannot create a custom object??
Thanks
