Mount points not recognized during the upgrade

am running the preparation steps to upgrade PI 7.0 to SAP NetWeaver

7.1.

In the extraction phase when I am prompted to give atleast the "SAP

Unicode Kernel DVD" I give the following PATH to my mount point:

"/sapcd/XI_UPGRADE_PI71/UC_KERNEL"

This is the DVD in 51033245_1.ZIP.

When prompted to go to newer version of SAPup I had upgraded to

SAPup7103(Patch 21)

I get the error "The currently mounted set of data carriers does not

satisfy the mount request".

The is not cdtrace.log in the logs folder.

Any advise will be much appreciated.

Hi,

I would re-download the complete DVD again from SMP, it sounds like the CD is corrupt or incompatible with the version of the OS or PI 7.1 that you are trying to install. Also make sure that the mount point /sapcd and all its sub directories are readable, writable by root. Hope this helps!

Hello,

Try to put all K_710_SOLARISSPARC below in the folder /sapcd/XI_UPGRADE_PI71/UK/NW_7.1_Kernel_SOLARIS/DATA_UNITS.

K_710_NI_SOLARIS_SPARC

K_710_UI_SOLARIS_SPARC

K_710_NV_SOLARIS_SPARC

K_710_UV_SOLARIS_SPARC

It should work.

Best regards,

Hello,

we had this problem, too.
SUM or SolManUp have problems with directory path with space and points on unix systems like .../SOLMAN_7.1_SR1_Krnl_AIX__z_OS__SOL

It is solved by using .../SOLMAN_7_1_SR1_Krnl_AIX__z_OS__SOL in path.

This is the DVD in 51033245_1.ZIP.

Just to make sure, did you unzip the dvd to that location? Because SAPup will not do that for you.

Thanks Micheal.

I did extract and give the mount point as the extracted folder.

Hi Shabnam

which is you OS

Can you able to view mountpoints , I mean can you able to access on shell like with bdf or something like that.

Other reason is you are providing wrong KERNEL media as required
