SAP GRC ERM 5.3: The Usage of Condition Group

Hi,

Does anyone know how the Condition Groups created in ERM is applied during role creation?

I have created a condition group called SD group with the following values:

Condition: And

Role Attributes: Business Process

Value: SD process

I have also assigned this condition group to the defaulted methodology process. However, I see no difference during role creation. Can anyone tell me the purpose of this condition group?

Hello Debbie,

You see no difference because you have the same process both as "DEFAULT" as well as the one with the "condition group".

This is just like saying IF A, then B and If C then B. In this case the output of both the IF's is B, which is exactly youe case. You are right in defining the CG but a bit incorrect in the appluication for the same.

Apply different processes - to the one in which you assigned the Condition group and create another process which you should set as the DEFAULT, to which do not assign any condition group. This will give you the desired results.
