Hi Ranadheer,

If you have some problem with your java webstart, please see if any of these information will help you in any ways.

Some probable steps that you can try doing are:

- It is recommended to have a minimum of JRE 1.4.2 or higher. But it’s better not to have JRE 1.5 and above as it has been noticed to throw errors.

- To avoid auto updates of J2SE to higher versions go to the control panel and open the Java Plug In icon. Browse to the update panel and uncheck the checkbox for Check for Updates Automatically.

- Open Web Start and go to Preferences. In the General tab you will find 3 radio buttons for proxies. Select the None option.

- Try clearing the cache folder Java Web Start>File>Preferences>Advanced>Clear Folder and then try downloading the jar files again.

abhy

Hi,

You need to do:

1. download and install the ftp you need to use like guildftp and etc.

2.Add a user id and password to it.

3.Configure a root path.

4.Grant authorizations tp the users like create, delete, append etc.

And you are done.

Hi,

If you are planning to use your system as the ftp server, then yes please install the FTP seperately like any ftp software you like guildftp is the one i use, and set the path and user.

Java webstart is needed for starting IR AND ID , but u need FTP Seperately.

Anirban.

Hi Ranadheer,

Java Web Start is required by XI to load the Integration Repository and Integration Directory and it has nothing to do with the FTP.

FTP server is required so that you can post or retreive files to and from XI.

Hi Ranadheer,

As anirban specified you need a software to be installed to make your system act like a FTP server.

you can download any from the following links

1. http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/ftpservers/

2. http://www.ipswitch.com/products/ws_ftp-server/index.asp

3. http://www.guildftpd.com/

Try GUILDFTP .. its a pretty simple software to configure and use. (thts wht i felt)

if you have any problems while installation do get back ...
