Alexander,

I am seeing the same issue. The following thread seems to indicate it is caused by a non-conventional domain name:

My domain name does not have a suffix. I'm thinking this is why I'm getting the problem. Is your domain name "unconventional"?

Thanks,

Jake

I have found a workaround for my issue. Our domain is a single label domain. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300684. I added a host file entry and added a .com extension to my single label domain. This can probably added to DNS as a CNAME.

Thank you for answer, Jake.

My long name is saperp.company - is it "conventional" name ? And short is saperp.

Host OS is Linux. I also tried to add hostname to local hosts in IE security setting, but still the same problem.

Your domain appears to be single label. It is not saperp.company.com. This is the issue. Add an entry to the client machine host file that resolves SAPERP's IP to saperp.company.com. Then you will use the following when trying to access portal in the client side browser: http://saperp.company.com:50000/irj/portal.

SAP appears to have issues with single label domain names and domain names with suffixes less than 3 characters long.
