hi

yes you can integrate any system to any system, it does't mater that it is sap or non sap.

you can use SOAP adapter to do so.

Hi...

The SAP XI connects to different SAP and Non-SAP systems.

The key concept of SAP XI is to drive integrated Business processes across heterogeneous systems in a more manageable and cost effective way.

Special adapters are needed in case where the Integration server is to exchange messages inorder to connect to a specific marketplace.

Yes, of course. XI is a middleware to communicate any type of systems. e.g. File - XI - File scenario has no SAP system involved.
