I wander how to make a copy of an ECC system(PRD) to an other system(QAS). The standard homogeneous system copy takes too much time.

I know it is possible by restore of database and changing ID of database. How to deal then with SAP part?

Hello Jan,

A database restore method is possible for an ABAP only system. If you have a Dual Stack system then you may do a data base restore method in combination with an export of your java stack using sapinst. This is fully documented in the homogeneous system copy guide whihc is available at

Hi,

If you have only ABAP stack than you can perform system copy using database restore method ,if you are running ABAP+java stack than follow the standard method export/import using sapinst tools to perform system copy. Database restore method is not supported in ABAP + Java stack enviornment.
