Changing the host domain in XI Server

Could anyone tell me if it is possible to change the domain of the server where is SAP XI installed?

Is a great effort to change configuration files? It's very risky?

It's better to do a new installion with the server in new domain?

I have heard of hostname change but not domain name change.

There is a OSS note 8307 for hostname change. This is what I would do to change the domain name.

First shutdown the server and make an image of the server.

Then change the domain name in your <b>hosts</b> file, <b>instance profile</b>, <b>exchange profile</b>, wherever you have it.
