Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 7.2 is not starting on SolMan system

We have installed Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 7.2 successfully without any error or warning.

But Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 7.2 is not starting on solution manager system.

However we are able to start the workstation of Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 7.2 in other system by using http://<solman host name>:8080/workstation.

1. First, We encountered this error: "Port already in use: 8081 To change the Web Server port, modify the EM property: introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port".

Then we changed the port in file E:\usr\sap\ccms\wilyintroscope\config\

IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties

1. The port that the web server listens on

#introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8081

introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8080

2. Now, We encountered with this error:

"Introscope Enterprise Manager falied to start because: A socket port was already in use <see the log for port number>.

How to resolve this issue?

Can anyone help us to get rid of this issues.

hi Sanjay,

it looks like the port assigned is already in use. find whether this port is used by anyother process and kill it. may be it should start.

if you are working on solaris....then some Webviews process might be using it by default.

How to check the port is already in use?

We use windows not solaris.

We are able to launch workstation of Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager 7.2

from other systems by using http://<solman host name>:8080/workstation.

But we are not able to launch it om solution manager system.

Hi,

Perform any of the two steps mentioned below :

1. Deregister the Introscope Enterprise Manager by clicking on DeregisterEMService.bat which is available @ \usr\sap\ccms\wilyintroscope

Then uninstall the Enterprise Manager & install it again.

Or

2. Configure the port number property to either 8080 / 8081 in config file.

introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port=8080

And restart the Enterise Manager service after chaning the port number.

Also then execute Introscope Enterprise Manager.exe executable.

Hello,

i had exactly the same problem and we solved it like this :

Reason :

/usr/sap/SMD of one agent was full and can not running and stopping correctly.

Action:

- control every filesystem of your agent

- if one is full:

- delete every "core" "javacore" and "heapdump" files on its FileSystem,

- stop Agent SMD

- verify agent is stopped (if not kill process)

- start Agent SMD (verify its running)

=> start Wily Introscope (after to be sure that there is no process scope (ps -aef |grep scope))

Hi Sanjai,

In folder Directory:\usr\sap\CCMS\wilyintroscope\config file "IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties" Edit the value of "introscope.enterprisemanager.port.channel1=" to value 6004 or some other value ranging from 6000 to 6010 and try running the Introscope Enterprise Manager it should work.

You can check the same in the log file in folder "Directory:\usr\sap\CCMS\wilyintroscope\logs\IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.log"

I agree with Antoine.

One or several Agent(s) SMD are note running correctly.

- Stop all your Agents SMD

- Verify they are stopped (kill their process if necessary)

- Stop your Wily Introscope Enterprise Mananger

- Verify that Wily Introscope (sometimes, one java process is still running kill it too)

ps -aef|grep scope

adm 1134620 856104 21 Nov 26 - 1844:28 java -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -Djava.awt.headless=true -showversion -cp ./lib/EnterpriseManager.jar:./lib/WebServices.jar:./lib/IntroscopeClient.jar:./lib/SNMPAdapter.jar:./lib/Workstation.jar:./lib/IntroscopeServices.jar:./lib/WebViewAPI.jar:./lib/WebViewServer.jar: com.wily.introscope.api.IntroscopeEnterpriseManager

- when all is stopped, start Wily Introscope in foreground to see if it starts correctly.

if so, start SMD Agents

if not, i don't know ...

Hello,

I met again this same problem.

I solved it this time like that :

on the server where wily Intrscope is installed:

=>netstat |grep 8081

• nothing ***

=> netstat |grep 6001

tcp4 0 8161 srv29827.6001 srv298v5.45233 FIN_WAIT_1

tcp4 0 8180 srv29827.6001 srv298v1.56268 FIN_WAIT_1

=> connect to the servers concerned (here srv298v5 & srv298v1)

=> stop smd agent as smdadm : smdstop.sh start agents earlier stopped
