Memory/enqueue errors trying to copy CVC in SCM

We've opened a ticket with SAP; in the meantime we're looking for peer help in an SCM dilemma.

(CVC = Characteristic Value Combination)

System is Unicoded; version: SCM 4.1

We are seeing longer run for jobs that create CVCs, copy CVCs and backup cubes).

Program: /SAPAPO/RMQUOT_PAREA_CR

The volumes are affecting planning book loads due to CVC create finishing close to the beginning of the business day.

The root cause is that we have too many CVCs, but are stymied reducing the number.

The symptoms include:

We saw memory allocation errors (TSV) and have increased these parameters.

We try to delete unused CVCs and get the message number /SAPAPO/ATP290.

Current situation: only able to delete 100 CVC at a time

OK, we have an answer in a pilot SAP note.

Here's what support said:

please make sure that note [967889|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/967889] is in your system and afterwards implment the pilote note [1082717|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1082717]. You were added as pilote customer. After implementation please check the system behaviour again and if the problem still exists send this message back to me.

Your mileage may vary, don't take wooden nickels, etc.
