Hi ,
In our other ECC system i could see the file system created as /oracle/<SID>/sapadata under this they created the directories sapdata1, sapdata2, sapdata3 ,sapdata4.
In BI system i could see the file system created as
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata1
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata2
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata3
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata4
My question is both the file system creation for sapdata is same.
As for the present installation ECC - HR i have notified the team as creating the file system as below
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata1
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata2
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata3
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata4
Am I right or should i create it as one file system /oracle/<SID>/sapadata and under this open the directories as sapdata1, sapdata2, sapdata3 ,sapdata4.
Please advice and help.
Thanks a lot.
/oracle/<SID>/sapadata1 is wrong... use:
/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1 (without the additional "a")

you have two option
1. create /oracle/<SID> filesystem with sufficient space.
and then create sapdata1..4 directories manually.
2. you can create separate filesystem
/oracle/<SID>
/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1
/oracle/<SID>/sapdata2
/oracle/<SID>/sapdata3
/oracle/<SID>/sapdata4
select best option which suits you.
