Hi Gurus,
we need to do a customizing distribution from Solution Manager to rest of the systems. While we can create RFC's from SolMan to rest of the SAP systems , but for MDM i am not aware if there is any sort of RFC's existing. The only way i know is XI.Is there any other way for doing the customizing distribution to MDM.
Regards!
When I remember the correct way, there is an option in the Solution Manager Customizing Synchronisation that allows you to start an ABAP method on the target system. This would allow you to write some code using the ABAP API to add / correct customizing / lookup data in the MDM repository.
Just as an idea.
Best regards

Hi Gaurav,
As rightly mentioned above,We do not have the RFC facility in MDM.
The only method available to Import/Export master data within MDM is through the Import and Syndication services.
The only advanced way of doing this import is that you have two options of doing it.
- Manual
- Automated
- You can either manually import the data using the Import manager client and import maps.
- Or else you can save the import maps in the console ports and automatically import the master data through the Import server.
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards

Hi Gaurav,
yes, that's correct. MDM does not know yet RFC. We usually use XML files to import customizing data into MDM. In the standard content we have created import ports for each lookup table, so that the data can be imported manually. You could think about doing something similar for your repository.
Alternatively, if you have successfully imported the customizing in your SAP system, you can use MDMGX for extracting the customizing from SAP systems into MDM. Check SAP Note 964991 for details.
Best regards
Michael
