RSS Feeds Not Working

Former Member

Hello All,

Since my problem is different than Edward Mellodew's, I thought I would start a new thread.

When I try to create a new feed in various reader programs, the connection fails. I think some of them are due to the authentication username/password failing. Others have a field for un/pw so I'm not sure.

My method for adding a feed is as follows; I copy the shortcut (In windows IE, right-click on orange RSS icon, select copy shortcut) then paste into new RSS feed in reader.

I have tried with various readers including:

- Feedreader build 641

- Active Web Reader 2.0

- RSSreader

- SharpReader 0941 (could pull feeds but only the first line, with no link for more info)

Any help?

Thanks,

Blair

There are several Feedreaders that support https.

Try FeedDemon (http://www.feeddemon.org) or the latest Mozilla Firefox 1.0 Beta Builds witch support RSS in their Bookmarks (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-0.9/)

As follow-up, I am able to get feeds from The SAP Developer Network Weblogs. These feeds do not use https, while the forum feeds do.

I am currently subscribed to a number of forum feeds using bloglines. When you copy the link to the RSS deed just edit the protocol to be http instead of https. So for example the ABAP forum link is http://forums.sdn.sap.com/rss/rssmessages.jsp?forumID=50 instead of https://forums.sdn.sap.com/rss/rssmessages.jsp?forumID=50.
