Hi Friends

I want to restore the database of ECC6.0 SR3 onto ECC6.0 SR2 version where the database is Oracle 10.2.2.0 on both servers and OS is Solaris 10. Will there be any problems in the same.

Lokesh

There is no issue, once you restore your ECC SR3 on ECC SR2, automatically SR2 will become SR3 after restore.

"SR3" elements are included in the database. SO, when copying database, you copy SR3 status. This means that support packages will be already applied on the copied system.

one more thing, to be SR3 completely, you must also copy the kernel to the SR3 level or use an newer kernel.

Hi lokesh,

Technically you are upgrading your patch level when u move to next SR version.

so no problem go ahead.
