Upgade SRM 4.0 to SRM 5.0--- Changes in XI???

Hello all,

We have upgraded SRM 4.0 to SRM 5.0. The scenario is some messages will flow from SRM to R3 Via XI. (Self-Service Procurement, Plan-Driven Procurement, Strategic Sorucing, CCM, Service Procurement, etc)

With respect to XI, we have developed few objects in ID for SRM 4.0 itself and it was working fine previously. Now we have upgraded SRM 4.0 to SRM 5.0. I would like to know what are all the changes we need to do in XI with respect to this upgradation.

The following are the guide-lines given in the upgradation guide for SRM 5.0.

<b>

"If you have your own XI 3.0 content, you can reuse it for PI / SRM 5.0. See the Upgrade Guide – SAP NetWeaver 2004s for this. If you have no PI content of your own, use the SRM PI content delivered with SRM 5.0."</b>

Here, what does the <b>XI3.0 Conent</b> means? Since we have already developed the objects in XI, is it necessary to do any changes again? Or the previous itself is enough?

If we need to do changes in XI for SRM 5.0, what are all the changes we need to incorporate? and how?

Regards,

Prasad U<b></b>

Hi Prasad,

I was looking for such informations a few month back,

<i>Here, what does the XI3.0 Conent means</i>

- I think its the IR , Repository objects.

Please refer to my thread and the replies by JIN SHIN,

</i>

This part i am not sure, but i think it supports backwards compability.Worst case you need to change the configuration.

Best of luck,

Anirban.

Hi Anirban,

Thank you for the help.

Yup, I have already seen your postings regarding this previously itself. "Upgrade Guide" from Service Market Place, suggest that

<b>If you have your own XI 3.0 content, you can reuse it for PI / SRM 5.0. If you have no PI content of your own, use the SRM PI content delivered with SRM 5.0.</b>

Here I got confused, since we already have our interfaces done, does this mean that it is not necessary to do any changes? or We need to do any????

Just now, I have checked the Message Interfaces and Mappings in IR, it doesnt show any error.. So I hope that it is not necessay to do any changes????? Any how once the post settings for the upgradation is done, I will let u know abt the happenings...

Any other clues are always welcome....

Prasad:

What they mean in the upgrade is that if you have already developed the XI - Repository content or used a previous version of the XI content (SRM Server 5.0) from SAP, you do not have to change anything.

The XI content from SAP is the ones pre-developed by SAP for use in the XI Repository and are available from http://service.sap.com/swdc.

For new interfaces, it would make sense to use the most recent XI content from SAP. These are available as XI Content for SRM Server 5.0 and so on.

If your interfaces are working, you do not have to redesign them with the new content!
