RZ10 - Import Profile of Active Servers fails due to truncate

Former Member

I have done this in other systems with 13 character hostnames. However in these systems the profiles were imported without the reference to the hostname or share:

Results:

The following default profile is imported:

sapv-ecc60a_V6A_00:D:\usr\sap\V6A\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PFL

The following instance profiles are imported:

sapv-ecc60a_V6A_00:D:\usr\sap\V6A\SYS\profile\V6A_DVEBMGS00_sapv-ecc60a

The following start profiles are imported:

sapv-ecc60a_V6A_00:D:\usr\sap\V6A\SYS\profile\START_DVEBMGS00_sapv-ecc60a

In the latest installation I get the following error:

Instance profile
sapv-ecc60a\sapmnt\V6A\SYS\profile\V6A_DVEBMGS00_sapv-ec Could not be read. The import is therefore not possible.

Please advise.

Thank you

Aubrey Smith

You can try one trick

1.Rename you instance profile to "V6A_DVEBMGS00_sapv-ec"

2.Import the profile

3.Then again rename back to the original

Dear Aubrey,

I think instead of giving full path .. you should us DIR_PROFILE parameter to access these files..

Also.. as a workaround ..you can create a share in //sapmnt with profile and copy all the files from cuurent profile.. also you have to change DIR_PROFILE path in start profile of server...
