Unicode platform for SAP Basis 4.6c and above

I am a newbie here.

Can I know whether Unicode environment is a default feature in SAP system? Or is it only available by default from certain version onwards?

Hi,

Unicode is only available from SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 extension set 1.10 onwards. SAP R/3 4.6C is available for single non-unicode code pages only.

You are correct that the unicode version is the default shipment version ( for SAP R/3 Enterptrise 4.7 onwards ).

Hi,

I am sure , from SAP R/3 Enterprise ( R/3 4.7, WAS 6.20) it is Unicode. Earlier 4.6 is having non Unicode, i don't know Unicode is there for 4.6 /not.
