Thanks,

but this is already set...

It look like he wants to open a website.. but do not find a webserver...

It looks like you try to open google without internet connection.. it then displays: Page cannot open or so..

I become the message:

HTTP ERROR: 500

Unable to compile class for JSP

RequestURI=/help/index.jsp

Powered by Jetty://

But i think it is the same... the program try to reach a webserver or so?

Hello Bjoern,

Please update the thread with additional information:

  • Please start Database Studio & click on - Help -> Software Updates -> Manage Configuration ->

View Installation History

& check the Target of the DatabaseStudio installation & status.

  • Review the information at <.>\DatabaseStudio\readme\readme_eclipse.html

and <.>\DatabaseStudio\readme\readme_gef.html

  • What is the OS of your server?

  • What is the java version installed on this server?

Update with output of the command 'java -version' & check if you have

the u2018tools.jaru2019 file, which is in the u2018libu2019 folder of your JDK.

  • Did you have any problems during the Database Studio for MaxDB installation?

  • Please post the log file from <"user.home">/sdb/DatabaseStudio/.configuration

  • Please update with output of the command:

sdbregview -l

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello,

can you post the .log file of Eclipse?

It should be located in the <user>/sdb/DatabaseStudio/.metadata directory.

If it is very large please find the part connected to your problem.

Sorry, but there is no LOG File.. only a 0byte LOCK File?! .lock

Greetings

Hello,

maybe the .log file is in a different location on linux.

But Eclipse writes a .log file when it starts up. If there are problems with the Eclipse help system there should be some information about this in the .log file.

Hello,

on my Windows I use java version "1.5.0_06" without problems.

As far as I understood the discussions are about problems with some specific java versions and how they are installed.

Hello,

Maybe you can try with java version 1.5.

As this problem seems not to be a special Database Studio Problem but a Eclipse Problem could you install the Eclipse 3.3 and try if you face the same problems calling the help from Eclipse?

Best Regards
