'FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection' Error

Former Member

Hi All,

I'm installing SAP 4.7 IDES for oracle on windows 2003 server. I was able to complete the installation till the end, but in the last stage of installation i.e. at 'Starting RFC jobs (post processing)', I got 'FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection' Error. I had terminated the installation process and then restarted , this time it started asking to enter password for DDIC user (RFC logon verification), I had given password for DDIC user as '19920706', but it is not accepting that password. And the process in an infinite loop .

Can anybody help me to solve this issue

check whether /etc/hosts or windows hosts file has entry for 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost. If not add it to host file and continue the installation. This should resolve the problem.

Hi, login sap* using 06071992 change password of DDIC to 19920706, if RFC is successful. If next step of Restart Instance fails edit keydb.xml search for ERROR change to OK and restart sapinst. If it fails again with RFC change back password of DDIC to password supplied during installation.

thanks for your reply.

I search for thekeydb.xml files. There are 3 files on my dump directory.

D:\DUMP\KERNEL\SAPINST\NT\I386|KEYDB.XML

D:\DUMP\KERNEL\SAPINST\UNIX\HP11_64|KEYDB.XML

D:\DUMP\SAPGUI620\SAPINST\NT\I386|KEYDB.XML

Can you please tell me which one is correct one i have to change.

Becaus ethere are xml files can I use Notepad to change.

When I change, Do I need to start installation from:

Start>Program>SAPInst ORACLE KERNEL>SAPInstServer with GUI?

Thanks in advance very much.

Hi Mumin,

The "Dump" directory you have given is the location where

you dumped the DVDs I guess.

You need to change the keydb.xml file in the

sapinst_instdir which should be in <drive>/program files.

After that start the installation as you did earlier.

I'm installing SAP 4.7 IDES for oracle on windows 2000 server. I was complete the installation till near the end.In the last stage of installation at 'Starting RFC jobs (post processing)', FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection Error. I terminated the installation process and then restarted , this time it started asking few times to enter password for DDIC user (RFC logon verification). I have no idea what password for DDIC should be.I tryed few times but it is not accepting that password.

Hi Mumin,

Welcome to SDN!

The guess the central instance installation is over. The

ddic password would have been asked in the previous steps.

If you remember that password, you can logon to the system

and change the ddic password to 19920706 and then retry.

If you're not able to logon to the system, you might need

to alter the "keydb.xml" file in the installation

directory.

1. Open keydb.xml in a notepad.

2. search for the table t_SAPComponent_SAPSystemLogon_SHARED

then look for <fld name="pPW">, <properties>,

<property name ="GUIENG_USER_INPUT" and set the value

"GUINEG_TRUE" to "GUIENG_FALSE".

3. Save the changes

Retry, give 19920706 as ddic password when prompted.

Actually this is a workaround given by SAP. It might work

for you.

Srikishan

First, you posted in a wrong forum.

Second, you posted in multiple forums!

However, here is my suggestion: At this stage, setup connects to localhost thru RFC and DDIC password is no longer '19920706', but something that you keyed in before this step. Use that password to continue installation.
