Hi,

Now that you have published your password on the internet, please, provide us with your user name and network connection information !

I think that you just have to type the password for the first time, then change it for something more "easy".

If you could give us also your bank account number that would be very kind from you !

Oliver Thanks for your quick reply.

Requirment is , First time it self i want to copy & paste it directly instead of typing.

I ahve put the question wrongly.

When i am a BASIS admin.

I am genrating the password and sending to the users.

But users could not able to copy & paste it in their login screen.

& Users are not ready to type it even for first time.

But security policies will not allow manual genration of passwords.

I beleive, now i explained better my requirement.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

I had perfectly understood your requirement the first time.

I have tried it but it does not work so, I think that your requirement is not possible because of the "strange" characters in your passwords.

Your users don't like it but I guess they will have to type the password.

You can try to open a message on Sapservice if you consider that as a bug but then I wish you a lot of luck in that case !

Odd, I have no problem pasting the password into the login screen with the 710 SAPGUI. I used the password for the first message with a test user and there were no problems.

I think Generating password automatically will give you always such kind of problem, so better to avoid it and create password manually, it needs only minimum 8 characters to fill, so i dont think it will take too much time. So as against of creating it automatically, we can definately try to put manually.

Odd, I did exactly the same test and also with sapgui 7.10 and it did not work...

So the conclusion is : it works for some people and not for other people.

Maybe this is a PC configuration problem ?

Copy+paste works, if you are careful. The issue could be with what is copied versus what must be copied. Usually when you copy some text, it gets appended with one white space either before and/or after the text string. This often goes unnoticed if you are not careful. When you paste this string it obviously is different from the original and hence the problem.

I would suggest that you ask your users to make sure they copy the EXACT string. I personally prefer using shift+arrow keys to select the text for copying instead of using the mouse. Try it for yourself.

Cheers!

Copying & Pasting also did not work , For testing,

as i copied from SU01 screen box to SAPGUI login screen & did not work.

Experts, as olver said any desktop issues, How to address this

Let us minimize the size of length of generated password from 40 to 8

by maintaining parameter & values in table "PRGN_CUST"

parameter = GEN_PSW_MAX_LENGTH

value = 8

which inturn automatically genrated the password of 8 characters & copy paste also works for requirement.

Quick view to know about switches used in tabel PRGN_CUST
