Hello all,
What is the use of progress tracking. In PS SPRO i can see there are separate configuration required for progress analysis and progress tracking. What is the difference.
Thanks
propgress analysis is the earned value analysis using measurement method
progress tracking is tracking the progress of the component (material) e.g. if you buy a critical equpment for your project you can monitor various tasks for the activity like writing specs, design, inspection etc - it is effectively micro-management of a PO similar functionlity of dscheduling as networks
- it used to be called monitoring of dates and from ECC it is called progress tracking

Progress Tracking:
Progress Tracking is to monitor the Procurement Process. In customization u define events (ex: Quotation. PR, PO) and link them in a sequence to create event scenario. U need define the Progress tracking profile how the variance to be shown in the report. When u run schedule base line date established and u can check the variance with respect to actual dates.
