Hello Sunil,

Shop floor is nothing but where you do some productive work.It can be machine activity along with labour work.It can be simply some assly also without machine activity.

Even motor garage is also shop floor.Simply we can say shop floor is nothing but where we manufactured any kind of product/rendor services etc.Main activity in shop floor is production and its planning along with material managment & product distribution.

Shop floor literally is the floor of a factory (machine shop) where people work on machines, or the space in a retail establishment where goods are sold to customers. Also it is the area in a factory where workers are engaged in production.

Shop floor is the orgnisatonal unit just beow plant where actual production work takes place,

1]where the actual production order activities starts,

2]where the work center capacities like,man.machine,are gets consumed.

3]from this location the finished goods receipt delivered to finish storage location,or for assemblies.
