What is the difference between Adapter and Adapter module in PI?

Hi,

Adapter is the one which comes with the standard funtionality after you installed XI and deploy the Adapters.

Where as Adapter Module is the one which we will develop for additional functionality which is not possible with the standard delivered adapters

adapter is a whole unit that processes the message (it can use different protocols etc.) like file, http

adapter module is a user exit for any adapter - so you can change

something in the adapter processing with an adapter module
