update problem, users can not post documents

We had problem, users could not post documents(message was "update delayed. Please waitu2026"). After restart the problem vanished.

How to react in similar situation and how to prevent them?

Most important of all how to see why happend?

check out Tcode SM14/SM13 if the update server is active or not ,, if not activate it ..

you can check SM21 for system logs as if what has happened ,,,

update server can get deactivate because of many reasons

one could be the database problem : transactional logs get full you will find the complete info in

SM21 system logs

Make always sure, your log_dir is not full & BRarchive is done properly, as this will cause you problem & will have log space issue. Better to have CCMS alerts configured at around 80% or 85%, by which you can take prompt action upon the issue, if by any chance it gets full.

Once it gets full, Sm13 will show as Update is Deactivated, which is very critical so you need to get your solution before that, to avoid such situations.
