Hi Colleagues,
We are running SAP Netweaver 7.0 with Unix and we have detected that
we have a security issue if we leave open the connection to the SAP
Management Console via web (http://<host>:5<instNum>13).
I have been looking for an alternative to disable the access to the
SAP MC via web without having to close the port 50013, but I havent
found any alternative for that.
Could you please advise me if it is posible to stop the SAP MC or to
disable this application via web?
Best Regards!

Have a look at the following SAP Note for information on this service. Disabling the sapstartsrv service in the startup script will prevent it from running.
Note 936273 - sapstartsrv for all platforms

Sorry , but that note is not clear and does not state how to disbale the SAP MC.
We need this as part of the security advise.
My env is windows and Portal is NW 701.
Please advise.

Chaya

Hello chayapathy,
I am not sure how to do this,
but can you check this,
can you comment out the line in services file where 5<nn>13 port entry is there.
or disable 5<n>13 services with the help of OS administrator

Hi Amit,
There is no entry for this port not only in this server but other servers too where portals are installed but SAP MC is working via web.
Please assist.

Chayapathy
