WorkFlow Errors

Hi All,

Can any one tell me what kind of errors may ocur while working on SAP MDM Workflow.

Hi Praful,

The possible errors when working with Workflows can be as below:

- The compatibility issues,If you have not installed the correct version of the Ms Visio or the workflow installables,then you will have problems at the very first step of designing the workflows.

- If you are successful in that then there could be problems in triggering the workflows specially if the trigger action is Record import or Record Add(Automatic Import).

- If you are using the syndicate step in the workflow,then you need to make sure that the MDSS and the port settings are correct,or else the syndication may fail.

- Make sure to connect the correct steps in the workflow,as MDM workflows have certain restriction of the steps to be connceted not al steps can be connected to any.

- Fill in the Steps properties correctly as such the execution type of each steps and whether it si assigned a a role or a user.etc.

Hi,

MDM-Workflow

I use MDM-Worklow to syndicate the IDoc-Objects artmas, bommat, infrec, cond_a,.. in the correct order to PI/SAP.

Problem:

The wf-step u201Esyndicateu201C create the xml-file shortly, but the step donu2019t finished/completed. The status hold on u201Ereceivedu201C. So the next step canu2019t start and the wf never will be completed.

What the correct configuration of MDSS?

Few errors we faced:

1. designing the workflow. MDM workflow are linear in nature and doesnot support creating conditional Loops etc .

2. Dynamic assignment of roles and Users for workflow steps

3. Notificatio step has limited flexibility in framing subject or body of mail.

4. Deletion of workflows from MDM inbox. creates Memory overflow.

5. History log is not sufficient. Reporting on Workflow is difficult.

6. MDSS and workflow engine not always work in tandem. Intermittent syndication using workflow.

7. lots of other limitations in MDM workflow. Its better to use GP, Portal application
