Reg Configuring CCMs Alerts

Hi,

I have a SAP ECC System in AIX and DB2 Database. . I am planning to configure CCMs Alerts in that System.

the CCMS agens will be residing in the same system..

Pls let me know teh following information for this scenario

1. I should use the file SAPCCMSR or SAPCCM4X

2. Is it possible that the CCMS agent and the monitoring system is the same?

Hi,

For one system and it is your central monitoring system, you don't have to install CCMS Agents. Your SAPOSCOL collector should be able to gather all(SAP related data) the information you need for alerts.

On the other hand, If you have non-SAP processes to monitor, then you should install SAPCCMSR.exe and register the process to monitor.

Hi,

It depends upon which Stack you have in your ECC system, if it is only ABAP stack, then you just need SAPCCM4X to be registered with your CEN (Central Monitoring system) for giving you alerts. If it's Java stack too, then you need SAPCCMSR to be registered.

Apart from SAPOSCOL, as mentioned below, registration of this 2 agents help you to get in depth analaysis & quick alerts, in case of any shutdown activities happens with your system.
