CCM x MDM Catalog

Hi,

I read in SDN forum a discussion about CCM X MDM Catalog. I am working in a company that has Requisite today and we are studying about CCM and MDM catalog. We will have to move to MDM catalog or CCM on coming months. We are thinking about CCM 2.0 because we have a branch that already has CCM but we don't know if it is better to move to MDM Catalog.

Our company has 2.000.000 itens in catalog today (master data plus contracts) and a lot of views (~300) and I am afraid if CCM will support this volume.

Do you know if CCM only works for small and medium catalogs with small number of views? Do you know where I can find an official document about it? Do you have any experience to tell me?

Hi Silvia,

You should think about SRM-MDM as SAP is not doing further Development in CCM (end of Maintenance is until 2013- http://service.sap.com/releasestrategy)

MDM is better managing records, the user interface is nice. At least in my own experience is faster; basic works flows works good, complex ones I have not try it, so I cannot comment on this. At the beginning it might look a bit more complex than CCM (if you are used to CCM) but after doing some reading and giving it a shoot it is not difficult.
