XI need (justify)

Hello experts,

Many of us know that there are other EAI/ETL tools out there to utilize any integration requirements with SAP before SAP XI 3.0.

Many clients were asking ot justify the requirement of XI 30.0. There are many ways to tell best practices etc, but not many of them would be convinced.

I am wondering if we have any info (articles/links) out there that explain the mandatory need like SAP to other SAP products, etc which would help to educate client?

Hi

I have basically a question with regards to XI as an EAI tool when the load is very high. While testing we found that XI had some issues when the load size crossed 6mb, and we had to do some service pack upgradation, performance tuning etc. Correct me if i am wrong, but i believe 6mb is not really that huge a payload size for an EAI tool, what if the payload size becomes much much more. Does XI have the capability to handle such volumes, are there any case studies available to validate it. Also is there any common place or repository where i can find all the documents pertaining to problems arising due huge payloads.

There are various other ETL/EAI tools that has connectors (IDOC/BAPI) and hard to conviencey XI for all the SAP integration requirements. Is there any link/info that SAP recommendations using SAP Netweaver XI? how beneficial rathar than exploring capabilities?
