Hi All,
Access sequence should work from Most specif to Most general. In my case i have maintained four condition tables assigned to Access sequence of condition type PR00.I have maintained condition records for all the condition tables below.I have not marked any table with exclusion indicator and the requirement.
Customer/Material
Division/Customer
Customer Price group/Material
Material
When i run the sales order the record is always picking the value from the last table,no matter which table it is.
Please let me know why this is happening.
Thanks
Rishi
Hi
First of all in real time you will not maintain the condition records in all the 6 tables
The rule of most specific to most general is more for configurators and consultants like us rather than to the system
We should maintain condition records in the most specific tables according to the business scenario
Usually the most specific table is kept in the first step and exclusive indicator is marked so that we get most precise condition
Alligning of steps will make the system performance better with exclusive marked so that it need not waste more time in executing unnecessary accesses
In your case the record in the last table will only get picked up for calculation as the system rule of most specific to most general is applied here
But the system doesnot know which is most specific and most general because all tables you have treated with equal importance

Hi Rishi,
You are right, system will pick up the last table in sales order If you maintain condition records for all accesses.
This is happening bcoz of exclusive field in access sequence. If you select this field at any accesses system will stop the search there. it will not search other.
If don't select the exclusive field for any accesses. First system check the condition records for first table then other till last table and takes the value from last table.

Hi All,
Thankyou all for the answers but i think you people have not understood my qestion. My question is what is the use of access sequence than and what is meaning of Most general to most specific.OK as you all said tick the exclusion indicator and i have done the same but now it is picking the first one always instead of the last one.For eg
If i have six tables, all with two field entries.I have maintained the records in each table in VK11.Now how would i get to know which table is most specific and which is most general.
For eg
Customer/Material
Division/Customer
Price group/Material
Customer/Incoterms
material/division.
I hope now you people will understand it clearly.
Thanks

Hhi there,
It is true that by default the access sequence is written to check from the most specific to more general.
But if you donot check the exclusive indicator, system will check all the availabile records & take the value in the last condition record it finds. It is to avoid such situation that we set the exclusive indicator.
So always select the exclusive indicator in any access sequence.

Hi Rishi,
If you want the system to stop searching the next access after its getting the valid condition record which you have maintained in VK11 then you have to check the box exclusive indicator. If you don't then the system searches all the access sequence.

Hi rishi
If you don't check the exclusion then system will start checking the key combination ( condition table) one after another and it will search till last key combination ( condition table) so system will pick the last condition table. But if you check the box exclusive indicator system stops reading for the next condition table also.once it reaches the exclusive indicated condition table.

Hi,
Most Specific Conditions will trigger when the respective fields in Sales Order are identical with the maintsained Condition Record Values ,while triggering the Validity Period matters alot .
Please check the Validity period of the condition records maintained.

Hi,
Good Day,
Please consider Access sequence - Access number should be based on your priority...
also Exclusive condition access needs to be checked.
