My goal is to have SAP loaded onto my notebook with the ability to practice ABAP and Java development. I would also like to practice developing web dynpro applications with ABAP and Java. I noticed three products in the SAP Knowledge Shop under: General > SAP NetWeaver > WAS > WAS 6.40. They are:
DVD SAP NW'04 Testdrive DB2 UDB (English)
DVD SAP NW'04 Testdrive MaxDB SR1 (English)
DVD SAP Web AS Developer Edition 6.40
Can someone please advise me on which one I should use, if any? My laptop has Windows XP Pro, 1.73 MHZ Pentium M Processor, 1 Gig memory. Your response is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Jason
Jason, in order to practice webdynpro ABAP, you must have a WebAs 7.0. You can download the sneak preview at the following link. If you want to practice webdynpro java, you will need a java stack as well as NWDS. This you can download from SDN as well.

I have heard that there is no problem in loading both sneak previews on the same machine.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have two questions.
Mr. Venkat,
Do you know exactly where WAS 7.0 can be found? I am having trouble locating it.
Rich,
If my internet connection is too slow to download the ones from SDN, what DVD do you recommend I order? I know that I will need to forego Web Dynpro for ABAP. Hopefully it will still have the standard ABAP Editor.
Thanks again,
Jason
HI,
Just follow this path in http://service.sap.com
Downloads->SAP Software Distribution Center ->Download->Support Packages and Patches->Entry by Application Group->SAP Net Weaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 04S -> Entry by Component->Application Server ABAP.
Hope this helpes you

RK
