Calculation of Plan POC for the project

Dear All,

I have a problem with POC calculation.

We have created the project structure with WBS, Networks and Activities. We have also done cost planning using CJ40. And also budget planning in CJ30. We have scheduled the activies, networks and wbs and released the project. We have also posted some actuals in the internal activities.

I have also defined the progress version, measurement methods and assigned them to wbs, activities etc in the configuration as well as in progress tab of CJ20n.

Now I want to calculate the Progress of the Project. I understand that the system will calculate the Planned POC, Actual POC, BCWS, BCWP etc. I am using Tcode CNE1(Progress Determination) and after that CNPAWB (Progress Analysis Workbench).

The system is Not calculating any Planned POC for any of the objects in the project. I have tried all the measurement methods and calculated but did not get any result.

Please somebody help me on this issue. If I am doing anything wrong procedurally, pls tell me the correct procedure to calculate POC. Pls also inform me if I missed any configuration for calculating POC.

Hi Vishnu, searching for calculation of POC I found your post. It seems to be that you found an answer.  I would like you to help me.

Please let me share setting details and the procedure I followed in progress analysis before my questions.

My component version is SAP ECC 6.0 and SYBASE is used as database system.

I created the progress version 200 with plan Version 0.

I have created statistical key figures and assigned them to value category for all 3 usages
(aggregated, non-aggregated  and RA)

Cost planning in my project comes from activity type/price planning in work centers

Settings for Progress Analysis in Progress version 200 is this:

EV Basis:  4 Cost plan(active prject, overall values)

POC weighting: 4 Work, basic active project)

Planning Type:  1 Basic Dates

Early/late:     1 Earliest possible

Actual method: Tick

Ref plan method: Tick

Procedure:

1) In the progress tab of WBS elements, activities and activity elements, I entered progress
version 200 and measurement methods.

WBS  Actual 0-100 method
          Plan Estimation   (Estimated POC values entered Each period)

NWA  Plan 0-100 method
          Actual Degree of processing from confirmation

NWAE Plan 0-100 method
          Actual Degree of processing from confirmation

Estimated POC values entered at WBS elements are:

2014     6    32.00 %
2014     7    69.00 %
2014     8    89.00 %
2014     9    100.00 %

2) I entered network activities confirmations in the past (in June, July, August and partially in September.

3) I run transaction CNE1 for reading project progress for each period.
In this report I can see measurement methods assigned to each object.

4) I run transaction CNE5 in project information system, and get the progress analysis overview.

Note: I run Progress progress and progress analysis each period.

When SAP displays progress analysis overview, Degree of earned value are calculated as per
progress version and measurement methods.

Degree of earned values are:

Aggr. plan POC
N-agg. plan POC
Adj.agg.act.POC
POC actual, non-agg.

The system calculated some values in the project objects.

In this case, N-agg. plan POC is equal to Estimated values entered in the WBS element progress tab.

How does SAP calculate the Aggr. plan POC ?

I got these values: 0 (Jun), 4.038 (Jul), 4.038 (Aug), 100 (Sep)

I want to know Why POC actual, non-agg. is cero at WBS element lebel 1 in all periods.

In this case, Adj.agg.act.POC is equal to Adj.agg.act.POC

I want to know Why AdjNAgActPOC is cero in all of the periods.

I will appreciate your help.

you need to run CNE1 (check this transaction - this is to copy the data to the progress version usually 110 from version 0) to update the data on the progress version and then check results

I have already checked CNE1 and CNE5. I am not getting any POC calculated. Pls help.

maybe some missing/inconsistent config..

have you already set up the Statistical figures and assigned them to value categories?

this is necessary for POC to come up in reports

I used the Cost Proportionality method. I have also used all other methods but did not get anything.

I have created statistical key figures and assigned them to value category for all 3 usages(aggregate,non-aggregate,ra)

Hi Vishnu,

Seems like your config is correct.. I recenly implemented RA with method 07 ( Progress RA) and working fine.

What kind of cost planing you are doing in Project?

I used detaled cost element planning, and i have also tried unit cost planning and easy cost planning and hierarchy planning.I have also done budgeting using cj30.

Then you should be able to see this in report.

What SAP version you are using ?

I did implement the note 1156670 too.

we are using ECC 6.0

we have applied the note as you sugeested , still i dint get any out put .

plz suggest the note for the version( ecc 6.0 )

Can you check you have note 973322 & 1140645 ?

This is what I used in Progress Version Config.

Actual method: NO Tick

Ref plan method: Tick

Hope you are doing the cost planning on the same version you have defined in Progress version.

Hi Gurus,

The same is the issue with my.

I have done all the required Configurations also.

The Measurement method I have selected as follows :

a.)WBS(Plan) - Cost Proportional 

b) WBS (Actual) - Cost Proportional 

c) Internal Activity (Plan) - Cost Proportional 

d) Internal Activity (Actual) - Degree of Processing 

c) Exernal activity(Plan) - Cost Proportional 

d) Exernal Activity (Actual) - Degree of Processing .

then I have posted some actual values like activity confirmation and MIGO transactions against the materials in the Project.

In std. reports the actuals are seen but after running CNE1 and CNE5, no values are seen in the CNE5 report.

Please help.
