Where to move the SAP_JTECHS, SAP_BUILDT and SAP_JEE components

We are using the full NWDI Sp13. We creted a track and defined two runtime systems (DEVELOP and TEST).

To populate the buildspaces we checked-in the components SAP_JTECHS, SAP_BUILDT and SAP_JEE and imported them in Develop.

We imported them also in consolidation stage. After that they appeared in 'waiting for import' into the TEST runtime system queue.

We imported them also in TEST.

Now they are in 'Waiting for approval' under the Approval tab.

1) Why we need to approve this components ? We are not going to deliver to the customer these components....

2) Is it the right procedure to move ahead these components till the Approval state ?

3) What are supposed to do these components exactly?

Regards and thanks in advance..

Hi Mauro,

The approval process is only applicable for the following situations:

If you have defined a production system and you want to move activities from test to production. Once approved, the activities are moved to production.

Alternatively if you create another track and define a connection from your current track to the follow-on track then the approval process will cause the activities to appear in the development import queue for the follow-on track.

Hope this helps.

Mauro,

Answer to question 3: These components provide a runtime support for your custom made components. For ex, if you have a J2EE web application, it needs servlet/ejb jars to run on the server. These jars are part of one of the three archives you are talking about.
