Hello Experts,
Currently we are working on SRM 5.0 classic scenario with backend system is ECC 6.0. Now we are planning to implement MDM-Catalogue. We would like to know below clarifications.
1) Whether we can use same SRM server for MDM installtion?
2) If not then can we implement without XI?
Regards,
Ravi
Hi Ravi,
1. SAP do not recommend to run the SRM and SRM-MDM on the same server, due this can occure performance problems. (The SRM-MDM use a lot of system memory!)
2. XI is needed only if you want to transfer contract, materials, etc. from SRM to SRM-MDM. The XI is also needed if you have the these on the same server and you want to transfer this kind of data.

Tamá

Hi,
1) Yes you can you the same SRM server for MDM installation.
2) XI may or maynot be required depending on what all sceanrio you are using in MDM.

Hi,
Thanks for your revert. If we can install MDM and SRM within the same server then what about the client concept.
1)We have to go for different client for MDM? I understand one of our SRM expert(MASA) from SDN saying that there is no client concept for MDM. if there is no client concept for MDM then how we can use MDM and SRM both in same server.
Please see below link
Thanks
Ravi
