Hello Manu,

if you don't have the backup from 10-July (for example) anymore on tape or disk, then you can delete this logfile.

You need this log file for an easy restore with "brrestore -b <FILE>". If you are using third party tools like TDP for mySAP you can also delete all log files from the filesystem and can restore them via backfm in an emergency case.

Stefan

yes, you can manually delete these files if you do not plan on restoring backup runs made with these logs.

Hello Manu,

You have assigned the "Solved problem" to me and not to Eric and the others who helped you!!!

I only agreed with Eric, actually my post was not necessary at all (just a test actually...).

When your question has been answered, please click on "Solved problem" ( = 10 points) for the best answer (not the last answer).

You also have 2 x "Very usefull answer" ( = 6 points) and about 20 x 2 points (for comments such as mine).

Please try to assign the "helpfull indicators" (points) correctly!

Many thanks,

Julius

these files are not taking that much space, maybe 1.5 MB?

anyways, schedule CleanupJOB in DB13, it will take care of deleting old files.

Manu,

I am not sure you understood Julius' remark.

You should change the status of a post to "Solved problem (10)" to the person who actually solved your problem, not to the last person who answered you.

You should change the status of a post to "Very helpful answer (6)" to the person who helped you find the solution.

You should change the status of a post to "Helpful answer (2)" to someone who helped you and provided helpful answers..

Hi Eric,

I sent a Network Notification to Manu (something like a PM...) to explain this as well, but it bounced as undeliverable.

If Manu asks a new question and you catch it quick enough, please post a link to this thread again.

Until then, I guess it is just a little points goldmine: for whoever is prospecting at the right place and at the right time...

Cheers,

Julius
