Hi Experts,

When I starting the SAP ECC6 / WINDOWS 2003, In SAPMMC Console, disp+work.exe process first it shows, "RUNNING BUT MESSAGE SERVER UNREACHABLE; J2EE STATUS INFO UNAVAILABLE" then later it shows "STOPPED".

Kindly help me how to solve this issue. For reference I have enclosed the sapstartsrv.log and dev_ms log (ONLY THOSE LOGS ARE GENERATED ERROR MESSAGES DURING STARTING OF SAP)

There are two issues I see here.

RUNNING BUT MESSAGE SERVER UNREACHABLE

1. Message server itself looks ok to me.

You got to check why the dispatcher not responding.

check dev_disp and dev_w*. It should tell you something.

J2EE STATUS INFO UNAVAILABLE

2. check in your visual Administrator, if you set wrong hostname, etc

check your J2EE trace logs, JDK verson, etc

Do check the guide & see whether you have performed all the steps properly, including assigning Memory parameters, basic reason for Dispatcher not starting is Memory not assigned properly, so please do check the guide & it's recommendations.

hi,

Sat Nov 08 15:41:00 2008

<<- ERROR: SapSSLInit(read_profile=1)==SSSLERR_LIB_NOT_FOUND

This error can occur if the default HTTPS port 443 is in use. If another instance is running on the same host, and that server has HTTPS turned on, there will be a conflict. Specify an unused port (IE: 444) instead of the default port. To do this, set the instance profile parameter to "icm/server_port_2 = PROT=HTTPS, PORT=444, TIMEOUT=600".

Hi Guys,

Me too had the same issue. Being lucky, I was able to resolve the issue.

I uninstalled services using sapstartsrv.exe and then reinstalled it. The issue, as the above post suggests, is with the mismatch in sapstartsrv and kernel. Both have to be on same SP.
