Profit center error message in VA01

Hi,

I am getting error message while creating sales order

" Profit center 2000/1500 does not exist for 08.11.2008 " - what could be reason ????

My material is T-AU214 in IDES sales org 1000, DC 12

Dear SM,

The reason for the error could be:

1. You have selected the wrong Profit Center in Sales Order

2. The Profit center selected is correct but it valadity dates does not exits on 08.11.2008. You can change Profit center with T-Code KE52

3. You have not assigned the Profit Center to Company Code. This assignment can be done with T-Cide KE56

Check based on above three points & your problem would mostly get solved...

Please check the following settings in IMG

IMG > Controlling > Profit Center Accounting > Basic Settings > Set Controlling Area

Also check Maintain Controlling Area Settings

In OKKP, check whether Profit Center Accoint indicator is On

u must have assigned a profit center to the matrial in matrial master and now it needs extension on date.

How to extend the date? I am not an FI person but an SD one

I did not assign PC to the material - these are standard materials in SAP IDES system

Profit center 1500 does not exist in controlling area 0001

Go to:

T. Code: KE51 - Create Profi Center

Key-in Controlling Area (say, 0001 in your case).

Next, Key-in Profit Center (i.e. 1500)

and either hit ENTER or Click Tab: Master Data

Once you enter, Maintain entries in respective Tabs:

1. General Data

2. Basic Data

3. Company Code

Also, when you maintain all the data, You just check with Tab: Period of Examination;

There, you maintain data -

--> Valid From

--> Valid To (as 31.12.9999)

and confirm.

Eventually, this must resolve your earlier error of:

"
