yes, of course you can reorg table and index using BRTOOLS. SAP develop that tool for that task

By the way, I assume we can do the same thing via Brtool studio. Never tried.

it should work with SM36... as long as the SAP user as the proper permissions... but I would not do that. an index rebuild is a DB-Basis job.

BRCONNECT, BRBACKUP and BRARCHIVE are supposed to be executed with user <sid>adm
BRSPACE is not supposed to be executed with user <sid>adm and you can get (probably you will get) authorizations issues.
