System Copy or System refresh

Dear Friends,

We have to do Remote Client Copy & from our previous experience we realize its consuming much timing. We are using ECC6 with Windows 2003 as a operating system & MS SQL Server 2003 as a database. Our Database size is 190GB.

I came to know that System Copy will be another alternative for this option. Please let me know how we can precede with System Copy. Is there any step by step process in any documentation?

Regards

Santosh

you should also rememeber to reenter your license information as you will have the previous licenses come in, so delete those and add the new ones..

also don't forget to rebuilt your transport system things like se06 has to be rerun..

you can also use

note that this will also keep the client number on your copied system, so if client number was 200 on Rd, it will also be 200 on the copies system.

note also that all HR data will be copied, so, if you have payroll info, you might want to scramble these info on your copied system.

...and note that the logical system name is the same as the production too.

If you have other systems attached (BI, CRM, SRM, SCM...) you need to run BDLS after the copy and also change all RFC destinations to point to your other systems.

If you have an EP attached SSO must be set up again...
