Why do we Assign a constant u20181u2019 to BEGIN field of the IDoc in XI

Hi There,

I have just started learning XI, and I had little problem in understanding this concept of Adding a Constant 1 to The Begin Field of the IDOC.

Can anyone please tell me as to what is the reason behind this, and do we have to this thing each time, or there are specific scenarios?

HI Pablo

As you know XI works on XSD

To understand this

Occurrence = 0.1(not mandatory field) 0..unbounded(Occur more than once)

Occurrence = 1..1 or 1 (mandatory) and 1..unbounded

Using the XSD hierarchy. It has parent node and child node structure so first node is parent for IDOC which is mandatory and hence required occurrence is 1..1 or 1

As said above, Begin is the mandatory field and you need to pass some value in mapping to populate it.

Because that is Required Field, We have to mapp any thing

thats why we will supply any constant value
