Hi Experts,
we launched SAP R/3 two months back, we got to know that some project & Internal order, actuals are not capture for the procurements which are posted to Balance sheet accounts in the point of GR. also commitments were not captured
so I need to know, in reports likes ME2J, CJI3, CJI5, S_ALR_87013558 , S_ALR_87013119 have some interconnection between statistical cost element????
if there is some interconnection pls explain,
i convert some Balance sheet accounts into statistical cost elements after some acuals/commitments are captured on those accounts & want to know whether those previous posting would appear on above mentioned reposts????????
statistical cost element is balance sheet account having cost element category 90.
TX & regards,
Sam
Dear,
I want to understand what i've done from starting.
As my capex project is running after 3 months i've applied cost element catagory 90 in my G/L.
Due to this or i do't know why controling document is crearting during GR and before the
application of that cost element 90 CO document was not creating so the net effect by GR+GI the
actual cost before the application of cost element 90 is going to zero. But now its showing after the
date of application of 90.
But should the CO document should create during the GR?
Can we see the actual cost of GR/GI before the Application of 90?
Regards

Hi Virendra Pal,
WBS actuals which post on P&L is fine and all captured sice all P&L accounts are cost elements.
issue was to capture actuals/Comitments which are posted on Balance sheet accounts that are not created as cost elements ...
would it be possible to capture those by using statistical cost element??????
Reg,
Sam
Statistical cost elements cat 90 are being used in my implementation with plan values. These are reported in CJI3 and other reports if i choose plan version/actual version other than Actual version. Since no actual cost/revenue accrue to these CE, so actual values in these reports are not displayed for these CE.
They are used to capture and report plan values of cost and revenue, profits.
Regarding Actuals/commitments posted in BS accounts- I am not sure what is it that you are referring to- mostly reserves, provisions, WIP are carried by BS accounts. And these are not reported in CJI3 reports- but actual cost is reported. So if act cost = WIP, actual cost carried by CE will be displayed in reports.
If you are using valuated project stock, at the time of GR, stock account is updated- no posting happens to consumption CE.So actual cost is not booked on WBS at this time. Howeverm when you issue material from project stock to WBS, consumption CE is debited and you can display cost in CJI3.

Dear Sourabh Saxena,
Thanks for your valuable explanationu2026..
As u assumed actually we are using valuated project stocks and once GR is done we need it to be captured as actual under respective WBS/Project.
Once GR is done material shown under WIP(act cost=WIP) and need to get values from BS account to reposts like CJI3, S_ALR_87013558.
Do u have any idea how actual/commitment values are capture to CJI3, CJI5, , S_ALR_87013558 & interconnection with statistical cost element?
Pls explain what u told about u201Ci choose plan version/actual version other than Actual versionu201Dcan we choose versions on CJI3???
Thanks in advance,
Reg,
Sam
Since material is not assumed to be consumed at the time of GR of valuated project stock, it can not be treated as actual cost in the project. I don't understand the need to display it as cost. And it is no longer commitment also since GR is already done.
If you want cost to be booked directly to the WBS at the time of GR, do direct procurement for consumption for such material. In that case, it will hit consumption account at the time of GR and you will have values in CJI3.
Statistical cost element is for statistical purpose only- it has no link to actual cost postings. It is used for reporting purposes only.
CJI3 displays actual values. But other technical reports S_ALR_XXXXXX have the plan version selection in the selection screen.
Thanks,
