Service 'sapgw05' unknown

hi gurus,

we installed 2 instances of BI7 on one host both working fine on oracle10.2 & windows 2003 server.

1st one is BID for BI Development server instance no- 00 &

2nd one is BIP for BI Production server instance no.- 05

now I am configuring RFC BID to R/3 Dev

BIP to R/3 PRD

R/3 DEV & PROD is on seperate servers

all requirments for both are fulfilled like logical system, ALEREMOTE & BWREMOTE Users for remote logon with correct Authorizations etc.

Now I RFC test connection is working for BID - Bi devlopment instance & R/3 DEV

When I try to RFC test connection on BID BI - Development instance it's running but remote connection does not respond, even not getting any error.

then I try RFC test connection on R/3 production server with instance no. 05 it was giving ERROR:

ERROR: Service 'sapgw05' unknown

Location: SAP - Gateway on host sapgrp / sapgw00

Detail : NIPGetservByName: service 'sapgw05' not found

CALL: Getserv by name

but when I check it with instance 00 test connection is ok

At the time of installation BID instance I configured Local SLD & For BIP instance I Used configure in current SLD Where I used Gateway instance 00.

tell me exact solution for this.

RFC Service error

Hi

in the file services of operating system you must have the correct entry sapgw05 with the port :

this :

sapgw05 3305/tcp

edit the file and insert the string.

the maybe you must restart the sap instance.

Or use

- SM51

- Goto - Hostnamebuffer - Reset - Entire system

This will also invalidate the services cache.
