Hi folks,
we are planning to migrate our standard sap-installation to a clustered environment based on windows server 2003 and sql server 2005. Following the installation manual you need domain administration rights for installation or a domain administrator has to build the global group SAP_SID_GlobalAdmin with the users <sapsid>adm and SAPService<SID> before.
Due to a naming convention in our AD we cannot build these users and the group with the names sapinst expects during the installation process.
Is there a solution to change those names (following the SAP instructions there is not) or in other words how do you solve this problem (i am sure that there are other admins being confronted with the same problem).
Thank you very much
Stefan
According to the installation instructions that is the name of users and groups that are necessary to run a SAP system (as is <sid>adm on Unix).
All installations and upgrades rely on that naming schema so there is no documented way of changing those.
