Fulltext index using TREX , SAP DMS and Documentum content serrver

Hi Experts ,

We are using Documentum as an external content repository for SAP DMS. We have a requirement where we need to access the document using text search in Tcode:CV04N.

There is a need to fulltext index all the content that is stored in documentum. Documentum provide a capability to create fulltext index for the content in the repository.

My question to you all experts is do we need to create a separate index in TREX for the content in documentum or can we access indexex created from Documentum fulltext indexes. Please guide me with any documentation that can help

Thank You

Regi

hi,

Regi

this help u,

You have installed a search engine such as TREX.

You must make the following settings in Customizing for the shift report:

You must specify an RFC connection fort he previously installed search engine in the IMG activity Specify RFC Destination for Full-Text Search.

You must then declare this RFC connection as the search server in the IMG activity Define Search Server Relation.

You release full-text indexing for reports in the IMG activity Define Full-Text Indexing by setting the Index Release indicator for the document area COCF_SR. As a result, a full-text index is generated for all reports.

You can enter one or more keywords in the Keywords field on the initial screen. In addition, you can choose between the following options:

The keywords in the report should be similar.

The keywords in the report must be exactly the same.

Note:

If you encounter problems using the full-text search, you can use transaction SKPR07. Here you must enter the document class COCF_SR_PH for the reports. You can then restart any hanging indexing runs or re-index all documents if the search engine has lost the index. However, it is only necessary to use transaction SKPR07 in exceptional cases because the system carries out the indexing runs automatically when a report is saved.

cheers
