Oracle 9i installtion procedure on Itanium 2 server

Hello,

I am trying to install Oracle 9.2 on Itanium 2 server as per the note 986578. I am successfully done the steps from 1-7. but when I am running sapserver.cmd it is giving error for Java.

Java Runtime environment was not found at

C:\docume_{1\<sid>adm\locals}1\temp\2\orainstall<date><time>\jre\bin\javaw.exe. Hence, the oracle universal installer cannot be run.

Please visit http://javasoft.com and install jre version 1.3.1 or higher and try again.

please help.

You need to install java sdk before proceding... I'll recommend you to install version 1.4.2_12 or 13...

make sure env variables are maintained.

I have a file jre-6u7-windows-ia64.exe is it ok?

When we are doing the steps 1 to 7 I hope the java part is installing. so why? it is asking to install the jre.1.4.2

maybe because your jre version is older than the one required for the installation...

Also as far as i remember you can use the jsdk 1.4.2_12 for IA32 in your 64 server... correct me if i'm wrong.
