Dear Anwar,

Business Blue-Print documents the business processes in the company that you want to implement in the system. In a Business Blueprint for Projects, you create a project structure in which relevant business scenarios, business processes and process steps are organized in a hierarchical structure.

There are particularly 2-types of documents:

1. AS-IS: Prepared by Core-teams (from Client-side), documenting the current business processes/ scenerios

2. TO-BE: Prepared by Functional Consultant, proposing the required changes/ improvements in the current processes (sometimes, re-defining the whole concept) and identifying the GAPS.

You can also create project documentation and assign it to individual scenarios, processes or process steps. You then assign transactions to each process step, to specify how your business processes should run in your SAP systems.

The Business Blueprint provides a common strategy of how your business processes are to be mapped into one or more SAP systems. The Business Blueprint documents in detail the scope of business scenarios, business processes, process steps, and the requirements of an SAP solution implementation.

Structure

A Business Blueprint comprises the following structure elements in a hierarchy:

Organizational Units, Master data, Business scenarios, Business processes, Process steps.

Business Blue-Print Sign-off: Once, Client agrees to the proposed TO-BE Document (precisely, the scope of devlopment) by Functional Consultant (Implementation Partner), both the parties i.e. Client and Implementation Partner sign-off the writen document.

Business Blue print sign-off refers to completion of AS-IS and TO-BE documentation along with Gaps identified (partially solution also proposed). After the Business Blue Print sign-off ideally Realization should start, so that the design is freezed as to how the solution is proposed to meet the requirement.

Hi there,

The business requirements are captured in the proj preparation 1st stage.

In the blue print stage you will get the list of requirements in all the related modules of the project. Then you will prepare a document making a note of your understanding of the business process & process flows. Then you will do the analysisof what is the requirement. Here you will also do the GAP analysis. You will staudy what is possible through standard SAP & what are the requirements. Then you will see if the current business process is as per standard SAP & if you can fulfill the requirements through standard SAP process. If there is any difference between the 2 that is called GAP.

You will also document how you will overcome the gap. There you will suggest any process change or any customized development required. This process is called Analysis & Design.

So ADD (Analysis & Design Doc) is the outcome of the blue print stage.

When you say blue print is signed off, it means that your analysis & Design is signed off by the busines. It means that thebusiness will give confirmationthat your understanding / analysis of the business process is correct & they will approve your design.

Basing on the ADD, you will prepare the functional specs for the ABAP development or proceed with SAP configurations

Dear Amwar,

Blue Print Means: (Business Blu Print): The as-is Documentation of the client's business.

It cover minute detials over how the business is conducted, the documents involed, taxes involved. It is the document which would be the base for all SAP configurations & Customizations...

Blue Print Sign Off.: Means Client has accepted the Blue Print. After sign off this Blue Print becomes the foundation of all the future Configurations & Customizations to map the clien;s Business on SAP.

Hope this helps...

Give points if useful...

Thanks,
