BR*Tool Studio

Former Member

Hi,

I tried to install BR*Tool Studio, during installation it is asking me keystore path.

So i created a keystore using keytool & is under /oracle/<SID>/.

Now installation is completed.

But i'm not able to access https://host:port/studio.

So i changed the configuration in https-web-site.xml to "FALSE". Now i'm able to access the webpage

http://host:port/studio

but not able to login by Administrator user & passwd specified during installation.

can any one please throw some lite

Thanks in advance

Helmut, Kobby,

please be aware that due to a recent issue with BR*Tools Studio synchronizing to a RAC

instance we cannot support RAC with the Studio for the time being. If you run the Studio

on a regular instance, though, please consider opening an SAP OSS call to allow SAP

support to help you with this issue. -- Thank you,

Hello All,

this logon issue is currently under investigation. We'll keep you posted.

Regards,

Markus

Edit: We have located a bug in the installer now which corrupts the administrator password in the password repository during installation. We will address this bug in the upcoming patch. In the meantime, you can work around this issue by re-installing the Studio from scratch. Repeat installing until you can logon. I expect the installation to succeed after three times at most. — Sorry for this trouble.

Hi,

check this out.

 • server.sync.database=1200

in file

studio/data/server-000000.properties

or try to restart the server.

Could it be, that its still a little bit buggy?

/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/brconnect -confirm force -language E -user / -function stats -table "missing" -parallel 4 -force

Thats how it is called out of the Studio

Result:

BR0825E Table/Index '"MISSING"' not found in database

BR0182E Checking parameter/option 'stats_table/-t' failed

Same when i enter "ALL"

Running the command 1:1 on OS Level, then its working.

Edit: I also startet the Java with java -jar -Xms256m -Xmx256m

I got Out of memory Messages before.

And i think its a little bit faster now

Christian,

you have indeed hit a new bug in the Studio. I suppose that you run against a local instance

from a dedicated Studio server. The quotation marks are required for execution through a shell,

but in dedicated server mode no shell is being used. As a work-around you might want to switch

into advanced mode after entering the parameters, and remove the quotes. Right now we are also

evaluating in how far you could simply enter a local shell call like "sh" or "cmd /C" in the instance

remote call to pipe the BR*Tools call through a shell.

Sherif,

we still need to check this out, but maybe we have an issue with OC4J 9.0.4.0

here. As a quick work-around please link to, or copy the contents of the oc4j

folder of an ORACLE_HOME of yours to the oc4j folder of the Studio (OC4J is

OS independent). The version coming with Oracle is a 9.0.4.1.

where oc4j is a sub-folder from web-app-server.

and till now still facing the same issues

1- not able to logon using the Administrator

2- Invalid jsp taglib location: C:\BRTools1\config\..\jsp\lib\tag

Hi Sherif,

I also faced the same problem but now its ok it seems that username is case senstive use

username as Administrator

password as you provide

Hope it will work..

Regarding the one morepost here who is not able to tablespace info for that you need to configure instance for sap user schema only so commonly you need to configure studio using SPASR3

So after that you can view all the tablespaces and other info related to SAP DB.

Hope it Will Also help you.

Please Update US...

Hi Kicha,

to make the keystore

<JAVA_HOME>/bin/keytool -keygen -alias <alias> -keystore /oracle/<SID>/sap/brtools/config/.keystore

it will ask for password and some input.

to disable the HTTPS and use HTTP after installation just do the following

after you finish the installation go to /oracle/<SID>/sap/brtools/config and edit https-web-site.xml with any editor

and change the value of secure="true" to secure="false"

now you can access using http://<hostname>:8888/studio

thanks

hi Markus,

We are able to install Brstudio and able to add local instance and able to view the instance status.

1.But we are not able to view the information like (Owners | Tablespaces | Tables | Indices | Data Files | Control Files | Redolog Files)

2. How to add/manage a remote instance.

Please suggest on the above 2 Issues.

Knobby,

.keystore should exist at the following location, /oracle/<SID>/sap/brtools/studio/config, when you start brstudio server using >csh server.csh, it will give you an error and prompt you for the location it looks for .keystore file.

I am able to setup instances using br*studio, but it crashes regularly with following error:

500 Internal Server Error,

java.lang.NullPointerException at frames.server.__2b_._console._frame_2d_000._jspService(_frame_2d_000.java:59) [SRC:/frames/server/+/console/frame-000.jsp:19] at com.orionserver[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].http.OrionHttpJspPage.service(OrionHttpJspPage.java:56) at oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspPageTable.service(JspPageTable.java:349) at oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet.internalService(JspServlet.java:509) at oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:413) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:853) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].server.http.ServletRequestDispatcher.invoke(ServletRequestDispatcher.java:765) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].server.http.ServletRequestDispatcher.forwardInternal(ServletRequestDispatcher.java:317) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].server.http.HttpRequestHandler.processRequest(HttpRequestHandler.java:793) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].server.http.HttpRequestHandler.run(HttpRequestHandler.java:270) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].server.http.HttpRequestHandler.run(HttpRequestHandler.java:112) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.1.0)].util.ReleasableResourcePooledExecutor$MyWorker.run(ReleasableResourcePooledExecutor.java:192) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534)

can you please let me know the process how you created keystore file.

I created using keytool on os side;

keytool -genkey

and entered the details. It created a .keystore file in home directory of user.

I gave the location of file during installation.

Also i copied manually the .keystore file to /oracle/<SID>/sap/brtoools/studio/config/.

Now when i run csch server.csh

it gives me error

Error starting HTTP-Server: Unable to intialize SSLServerSocketFactory 'com.evermind.ssl.JSSESSLServerSocketFactory': Unrecoverable key error: Cannot recover key

I used the same method to create .keystore file and it worked. You can do it again and try it, just delete the old .keystore file first.
